This is an idea that I thought about to enrich the guild battle experience for everyone. Please feel free to add on or detract!
First off, I am not trying to point fingers at anyone for our results today. I fully understand that life happens. Also, the guild battle could have been forgotten or even people may not have known that there is a new guild battle every day. The real issue is that we weren't strong enough to win without 80+% participation this week. That is something that we will be working on as time goes on, so I am not mad at all. No one should be too mad, we were able to get really close to a win today!
However, the fact still remains that we were about 3% from a victory with 11 fights left over. If any two or three of these fights were won, all of the non-participants would have been able to get some guild points. So how can we ensure that we all get the best possible chance to maximize our guild points?
I propose that we install a sort of "attendance" system. Now, I'm not meaning that we have to be a super-strict, aggro guild that needs to win every day. However, the more fights we participate in, the better chance our non-participants have to get guild points. The more guild points we all get, the strong our guild gets as a whole!
Here is my proposal: We adhere to a "two absence maximum" rule. If any guild battle participant has any two days in a week where they do not use all of their battles, then they forfeit the chance to participate in the following week. A guild battle participant is anyone who is selected for defense and can attack the opposing team.
That is it! There is no kicking involved, since it would be more awesome if we home-grow our talent to dominate. If we set a limit then people can know that they have to really try to help the guild win every day. It really doesn't take long to fight 3 battles, its like fighting in 6 arenas. Having the ability to miss one before getting disqualified for the next week's battles allows us to make up for real-life as it comes. Also, if people know that the next week is going to be tough, they can just opt out of battles so that another guildie can get a chance to fight! That way we have no wasted chances and everyone who can earn points has the chance.
Please let me know what you guys think! If it sucks, then say so! If we think it's good then please say so too! I may add a poll later so that we can see who is really for it, but first let's let Mye and Veross have a chance to read and digest.
